at Jacobs University Bremen in April 2011. The lecture "Ship Knowledge" was

As a leading Transport Consultant and well-known Project Manager, Gavin Roser
has been interviewed on various topics relating to the Northern Maritime Univeristy
including: the challenge of education for the maritime sector in a competitive
European
Union;
the importance
of culture for
maritime education; the use of e-learning in maritime education; the
profile and skills that a chief executive in the maritime sector of the future
should need; and how the outcomes of the Northern Maritime University may benefit
the maritime
sector. He is interviewed

Gavin chaired a roundtable discussion at the Freight Leaders Meeting
in Vienna in May 2010 entitled "A Business update from key industries
in the light of the economic climate". Key participants included Daimler,
Alcoa, Borealis, Proctor & Gamble and Stora Enso and transport suppliers
Ge-eX Logistics, LKW Walter International, SNCB Holding, AAE Holding and
TIM Consult. F&L produced a press
release.
Gavin Roser has been invited to present lectures on maritime topics on cruise
ships. To date he has lectured on Fred Olsen's "Black Prince" and
the "Saga Ruby". This year he will be talking on the "Balmoral".
Pantrak was part of the Napier University TRI Consortium operating under
the Scottish Government Framework Agreement on maritime transport. Pantrak
was responsible for the freight elements of the 2009 Scottish Govt Ferry
Review including the Clyde, the Western Isles and the Northern Isles. Pantrak
conducted 140 stakeholder interviews. The final report was submitted in early
2010.
Pantrak is a partner in the Northern Maritime University Interreg Project
and participated in a meeting in Molde University, Norway in May 2009 and Bremen
in November 2009, to finalise the content of the pilot programmes for maritime
education teaching models run by:

Gavin Roser Chaired the Coastlink Tallinn conference in June 2009 dealing
with the theme “East-West-East Trade.” Hosts for the conference
were the Port of Tallinn who provided tremendous support in holding a conference
at this time of economic uncertainty. Presentations are available on the Coastlink
website and speakers included representatives of the World Bank, Lego,
the National Container Company of Russia, high officials from the Estonian
Ministry of Transport and the diplomatic community represented by Ambassadors
from the UK and Belgium. The conference dinner was sponsored by ISTSI, the
International Container Terminal Operator. The next Coastlink conference will
be held in Dunkirk on the 24th and 25th of September and will be Chaired by
David Cheslin.
Gavin Roser chaired a roundtable discussion at the European Freight
Leaders meeting in Hamburg in May 2009 on “How to combine green efficiency
and economic efficiency.” Participants included representatives of the
IRU, Clecat, European Shippers Council, the European Rail Freight Association
and the Alliance for European Logistics. The general conclusion was that sustainable
logistics is the key which can only be achieved through employing sensible
environmental initiatives.
Gavin Roser was a keynote speaker at the recent TAIEX conference in Ankara
in April 2009 on the subject of “Modal
Transfer – road to water”. Delegates included high level
representatives of Government and the business community.
Pantrak is a member of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) Freight
Quality Partnership and has recently been appointed by the Scottish Transport
Minister as a Director of Tactran the Tayside Regional Transport Partnership.
As
